Duncan McFie the founder of Cloud Juice discovered that many friends were coming to his house to collect rain water from the tank. He knew that King Island had the cleanest air in the world, the Cape Grim Weather Station just to the south west of the island attests to this. King Island had a reputation of excellence for its produce, a world wide market attests to that. Considerable time was spent researching the best combination of roof, tank and gutter in order to capture just pure water.
The result was a very expensive, over engineered, 10 square metre catchment. This should have caught sufficient water to service the King Island market but it didn't work out that way... Cloul Juice had to expand. And so the catchment grew The new roof section was built on the southern tip of King Island, part of the Bowling Property, a 6000 acre specialty beef farm adjacent to 11,100 kilometres of the Great Southern Ocean.
The rain we bottle is formed over one of the largest, unspoilt expanses of water in the world. |
