Kosrae is one of the last true tropical paradises left in the world, where the average yearly rainfall averages 300 inches per year, making it one of the wettest and lushest places on the planet.

Kosrae (kosh-rye) is one of the states of the Federated States of Micronesia, located approximately 3,000 miles SW of Hawaii and just north of the equator. Surrounded by a million square miles of ocean, it is a secluded Pacific island lined with palm trees, fringing coral reefs, lush tropical rainforests, waterfalls and rivers.

The island is home to around 8,000 Kosraeans who speak their native tongue. English is the island's second language, and its language of commerce. There are also a smattering of Europeans, Asians and Americans on the island, enjoying its spectacular beauty, its quiet and its intriguing culture. Known throughout the world as the "Jewel of Micronesia," Kosrae's weather conditions and remoteness ensure the purity of Lelú water.
