History:
Polustrovo has a long and colorfull history. The residents of this area long knew of the curative properties of water from the Polustrovo sources. In the 17th century Peter the Great’s personal physician told the tsar of these sources. Peter readily took to drinking the water and, thanks to it, cured an eye problem that had troubled him. After that the remarkable water became quite popular at the imperial court and among Russia.
In the 18th century one of the first Russian spas sprung up at the site of the Polustrovo sources, and the nobility would go there to take the waters. News of the Polustrovo spa also reached Europe, bringing visitors from afar. The artists Repin and Kustodiev and the composers Tchaikovsky and Mussorgsky are among the prominent Russians who spent time at the Polustrovo spa. And it was here that the famous French author Alexandre Dumas, père, enjoyed the restorative properties of the waters. Polustrovo products have won many Russian and international awards and it holds all the necessary international quality certificates. The Polustrovo Company has been recognized as Russia’s leading bottler of mineral waters.
