Deja Blue, the purified, popular-priced water, first appeared in Texas in 1997. By 2002, Deja BlueÂ´s distribution grew to include 10 states, with availability in portions of 10 others. Despite having only regional distribution, the brand enjoys a 2.6 percent share of the water market nationally, according to ACNielsen.
Dr Pepper/Seven Up expanded the brand nationally in September 2002 because of the growing interest by consumers in bottled water. The brand is expected to have 100 percent availability in the United States by early 2003.
