Tipperary Natural Mineral Water Company was founded in 1986 by Patrick and Nicholas Cooney. It has since flourished into a major national brand in the £40 million Irish Bottled water market.
The Tipperary source is located at Borrisoleigh in County Tipperary, where the Devil's Bit mountains form a large natural filter of unspoilt countryside. Tipperary Natural Mineral Water is sourced at a depth of 300ft, the source is covered in Devonian Sandstone, affording the highest degree of filtration & protection.
"The Good Water Guide", 1994 edition, detailing the world's best bottled waters describes Tipperary Natural Mineral Water as follows :- Microbiologically, the water is remarkably pure, apart from it's high potassium content which may contribute to it's subtly refreshing flavour." Tipperary is low in minerals. It is not what is in a bottled water that defines its quality, it's what is absent - the lower the mineralisation, the purer the water.

The Flavor of Bottled Water
When tasting water the most important factor in its overall integrated sensation we call flavor is the mouthfeel generated by the size, amount and distribution of the bubbles or the absence of it.
Matching Bottled Water With Food
The FineWaters Balance categorizes the "mouthfeel" of water based on the level of carbonization in five steps from Still to Effervescent, Light, Classic and Bold. This categorization is the basis of matching water with food in a fine dinig experience.
