In Hollywood it seemed as if people flaunted their bottled water like it was part of their presentation. Whether the bottles had a cool shape or came from an exotic island, none truly made that defining statement. Bling H2O was fashioned to make that defining statement. Bling H2O is the inspiration of Kevin G. Boyd, Hollywood writer-producer. While working on various studio lots where image is of the utmost importance he noticed that you could tell a lot about a person by the bottled water they carried.

Even as fuel prices climb, many people are still willing to pay more for a gallon of bottled water than they are for the equivalent in gasoline. At the same time, bottled water has become a symbol of refined taste and a healthy lifestyle.

According to ASAE, "IBWA was selected to receive the Award of Excellence out of nearly 100 entries for relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina. Rather than wait for the formal relief effort to become more organized, IBWA members and staff made direct contacts with officials and civic and municipal leagues in Katrina-affected towns and cities to provide bottled water to those in need."

The corps has long wanted to open bottling plants in Iraq, officials said. Currently, bottled water - the preferred drink in Iraq - comes in via truck from Kuwait, Jordan or Turkey. Water is bulky and takes a lot of logistical space. Drivers run the risk of hitting improvised explosive devices, car bombs or small arms fire. Bottling the water in Iraq takes that many military and civilian truckers off the road, officials explained.

The bottled water industry has seen a tremendous increase in sales since the mid-1990's. According to the Beverage Marketing Corporation, bottled water consumption in the U.S. has surpassed that of milk, coffee, and beer. As the market matures, it will become increasingly important to continue product innovation and to increase brand awareness to combat falling prices due to price promotions.
