Ice. The next Frontier for Bottled Water
One of the first things that strikes most visitor to the US is the American fascination with ice in soft drinks and water. Even sparkling water is not spared from this cruel treatment.
I will not be able to change the use of ice in soft drinks but I sure hope there is a chance for Naturally Bottled Water to be spared the ice.
Ice is the natural enemy of bottled water - and soft drinks for that matter. The correct way to drink bottled water is to chill it to the proper temperature and then drink it - without ice. Water should be served at around 55°F.
Bottled Water vs. Tap Water in the News
In a May 6th 20/20 news show, ABC's John Stossel asked again the wrong and decade old question - Is Bottled Water Better Than Tap?
He then makes the shocking discovery that "It costs about 5 bucks a gallon!" and asks himself "Why do people pay so much for something they can get virtually free?"
Bottled water set for bigger market share in the UK
Still water makes up the majority of sales (86%) in the £1.2b bottled water market, which sees UK consumers quenching their thirst with more than two billion litres a year.
The star growth area for bottled water sales is in the workplace, which grew 76% in the last year and now accounts for more than a third of the market (37%).
The Water Glass – Beyond Goblet and Tumbler
When one orders water in a fine dining restaurant it becomes rapidly clear that water is, in most cases, an afterthought. We have been served water in all possible contraptions from heavy whiskey tumblers to long highball glasses and the dreaded lemonade glass. A wide variety of wine glasses are also often used as water glasses. This is not appropriate.
