In other Boeing 787 news, it looks as though airlines might be getting rid of bottled water from the in-flight service cart. Boeing is planning to use point-of-entry ultraviolet water purification systems on all its 787 commercial airplanes. The new systems meet all the EPA guidelines for in-flight water safety, and the system will be continually monitoring and cleaning water throughout the cabin.
Sounds pretty fancy, but we’d still rather get our water from a bottle when we’re miles above the earth, especially considering the reputation that cabin air has. Otherwise, we’ll just stick to some good old in-flight cocktails. |
