10 minutes taxi ride from JR Gotenba Line's "Yamakita" station takes you to
beautiful Shasui no Taki water fall. This remarkable fall attracts many tourists
all year long for the splendor of its view in a glen with countless trees. At
the upstream of "Sakawagawa River", the fall has height of 120m which breaks
down to three parts. It is a great place to escape from summer heat as sole
glance of the scenery seems to bring refreshing cool air to those at the site.
By the walkway to the fall, a water spout space is set up for water
enthusiasts who take it for drinking, making teas, or cooking. The fall is
also known as a place for ascetic practices by Kamakura-era priests who beat
themselves by the fallen water.
