When FineWaters set up an agreement with AquaMaestro to refer fine waters drinkers to their online store, I was able to get some different fine waters and begin pairing them with foods.
Selecting appropriate waters for specific foods is not intuitive, but it's fun. It gives a whole new topic for discussion at our evening meal and adds another layer of interest to dinner.
When no one in the family wants to cook, we look for simple and easy dinner recipes. One of our favorites is from Atkins, Sauteed Chicken Sausages with Red Peppers. We generally pick-up nitrate-free sausages from Wild Oats and quickly make the rest. It can be paired with a salad.
Because we had chosen very spicy sausages, we picked a FineWaters Balance designation of Bold. That particular night, we had a bottle of Tipperary (Ireland) to pair with the food. Tipperary is in the same Bold category as Perrier, but on the opposite end of the scale. While Perrier has large, loud bubbles with little water in between Tipperary has smaller, but strong, bubbles with lots of water in between.
My husband, daughter and I enjoyed the strength and subtly of Tipperary with our meal. We served it at room temperature, although the manufacturer suggests serving it chilled (next time) and we have started using my grandmother's crystal goblets to enhance the fine waters experience.
