Agua de Benassal's mineral water originates from a natural spring located in the Alt Maestrat, a region characterized by its unique natural, cultural, and historical environment. This area is marked by diverse landscapes, including plains, valleys, ravines, and mountains, and is home to numerous areas of great ecological value, providing shelter to a wide variety of flora and fauna. The region offers signposted routes and approved trails for activities such as hiking, cycling, and horseback riding, allowing visitors to enjoy the pristine natural surroundings.

The Municipal Natural Park of El Rivet, located close to the spring, is a magnificent forest of Valencian oak and holm oak. It offers fantastic views of the municipal area and provides a space for residents and visitors to connect with nature. The Alt Maestrat is also rich in historical significance, with evidence of human settlement dating back to ancient times, including Paleolithic sites, Iberian remains, and Islamic-era artifacts.

The mineral-medicinal properties of Agua de Benassal have been recognized for centuries, from the Duke of Vendôme ordering a path to the spring in the 18th century to Dr. Puigvert, a specialist in urology, popularizing its benefits. The water is known for its exceptional properties and has been enjoyed by thousands of vacationers who visit the Fuente En Segures spring annually.
